Danna, age 7, and Tanya, age 10,
Arts For Life Artists (and sisters!)

What’s your favorite kind of art to make?

Danna: Drawing projects. I loved making the “Willow’s Creative Cat” project! Drawing all the patterns on the big cat was silly and fun! Sharpies are my favorite material.

Tanya: 3D art! I had fun making a jellyfish out of a paper plate and string this summer! I love Bingo Dot markers!

How do you get creative?

Danna/Tanya: We like to get creative together as sisters! We find animals and butterflies to draw, but then we color them uniquely.

Why do you think art is important?

Danna: Because you can create your own world, use your imagination and be unique!

What are you really good at?

Danna: Coloring. When I was younger I started coloring. I have a big box of markers and crayons at home and I use them all the time.

Who Inspires You?

Danna: [Arts For Life Winston-Salem Volunteer]Mr. Fred because he teaches me how to draw. I drew a tree and a butterfly with Mr. Fred!

Tanya: All the Arts For Life teachers! They show me new material and projects and tell me to use my imagination. It’s important to use your imagination and they know that!

Has anything amazing ever happened at the art table?

Tanya: I made a best friend necklace with my sister. That was a special moment. We each have half of a heart. It’s like the ones in the stores, but more special because we made it unique with colors we love.
