Andrea Klauss
Program Coordinator
Charlotte // Levine Children’s Hospital

Andrea comes from a varied background—with experience as an artist, as a business owner and as an arts educator. She grew up outside of Boston and received her BFA in photography from the Maryland Institute College of Art. While living in Baltimore, Andrea worked as a medical photographer at Johns Hopkins University Hospital and later at the Smithsonian Museum of American Art. In 1993, she moved with her husband to Charlotte, where she worked as a digital illustrator before starting her business designing websites for Charlotte’s nonprofits and for the travel and tourism industry. Together with her husband, Andrea is raising three boys and has enjoyed volunteering in the community, especially with public schools. She attended graduate school at the University of North Carolina Charlotte to obtain her NC K-12 Arts Education teaching license and taught elementary and middle school students. As an artist, her personal art is about the healing nature of art. Andrea feels that Arts For Life is the perfect organization to share her understanding of art and its ability to heal and make connections with others.
