Arts For Life was recently honored with a community service award from the Edward Buncombe Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. Our Asheville chapter program staff—Madeline Geier and Melissa Hyman—accepted the award and shared the impact of creativity that they see in the hospital every day.

As a non-profit service organization, the support of our greater community is what makes it possible for Arts For Life to provide free arts programming to pediatric patients and families in our chapter hospitals. The Daughters of the American Revolution is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women’s service organization – they share that they are “vibrant, active women who are passionate about community service, preserving history, educating children, as well as honoring and supporting those who serve our nation.” The group places great emphasis on community service by seeking to highlight good work around them and also by encouraging community service by all of its members on all levels.

Thank you to the Edward Buncombe Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for recognizing the work of our Asheville Chapter serving Mission Children’s Hospital! We are grateful to have such incredible support in our communities.
