Calling All Movers, Shakers, Makers & Creatives!
WHAT: #getcreative #givecreative 2017 Campaign
WHEN: Nov. 2-3, 2017
WHY: To amplify Arts For Life’s mission through social media and raise much-needed funds
HOW: With your help!
At Arts For Life, we believe that ART IS FOR EVERYONE.
Art is for the patients and families in our hospitals. It’s for our neighbors, for kids in schools, it’s for moms, dads, and caregivers. Art is for those who do it for fun, for self-healing and reflection, and for a living.
This fall, we hope you’ll consider joining our #getcreative #givecreative 2017 Campaign to help us bring MORE art to patients and families when they need it most.
We are looking for Advocates to take on this giving challenge and recruit friends and family members to support them on their journey!
On November 2 & 3, you’ll share with your online community about how you #getcreative in your everyday life! You can make a sign, post a piece of artwork, share a song you’ve written, upload a short video (wearing an terrific new Arts For Life shirt – learn more below!), or whatever inspires you. You’ll then #givecreative by making a donation to Arts For Life and setting a fundraising goal. You’ll then challenge your community (maybe that’s 5, 20 or 100 people!) to match your gift and help meet your goal. Your supporters can sponsor as many art lessons as they like – and even take become an Advocate themselves.
It takes $17 to provide one art lesson for a child in the hospital. Each lesson is an opportunity for a budding young artist to learn more about the arts and cope with treatment for a serious illness or disability. It means – thanks to you – a young artist will create a canvas, write a song, or craft a poem. On average, we teach 67 lessons a day. That’s a WHOLE LOT OF FUN! A donation to Arts For Life makes a world of creativity, discovery, and joy possible for kids and teens in hospitals across North Carolina.
How it works:
Step 1: Become an Advocate and create your personal fundraising page here.
Step 2: Make your own donation first ($17, or the equivalent of one art lesson – but we’d love if you could give more!). This way you’re truly asking friends and family to join you in the campaign.
Step 3: On November 2 & 3, invite your friends and family members to help you meet your #getcreative goal, bringing life-changing art experiences to kids who need them most.
