Internships

Arts For Life offers unique opportunities to develop and expand professional skills and experiences at the intersection of arts education and healthcare. Undergraduate and graduate students as well as emerging professionals can apply to work with our team in a capacity that aligns their personal learning goals and interests with our mission and current endeavors.

Arts For Life Volunteer interns fulfill their designated responsibilities within a predetermined schedule to develop professionally advantageous skills and experiences, achieve their learning goals, and support the current needs of Arts For Life. Specialized training, individualized guidance, and additional professional development opportunities are provided to interns by Arts For Life to ensure a positive, mutually beneficial experience for the individual and the organization.

Our unpaid internship programs provide unique experiences such as working within a clinical setting and have served undergraduate and graduate students pursuing all arts disciplines, education, medicine, psychology, art therapy, occupational therapy, human development and family studies, social work, child life, and other areas.

Please note, all Arts For Life interns must be over 18 years of age. Interns working within the medical setting must be fully vaccinated and have received a flu shot. There may be additional requirements that vary by site and internship responsibilities.

Additionally, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the at-risk nature of the populations we serve, we cannot guarantee in-person teaching experiences at all chapters this time. It is up to the discretion and capacity of our partnering hospitals if individuals can be trained and brought in to serve onsite. These decisions and regulations may change shortly before or during the internship. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as the safety of the young people and families we serve is paramount.
