June Drop-In & Volunteer Session
Have one, two, or three hours to spare on Thursday, June 18? Do you want to aid us in serving the 8,000 + students that we reach each year across North Carolina? Join us for our Third Thursday Drop-In & Volunteer Session. Every third Thursday, we invite you to gather at our main office in downtown Asheville and lend a hand; after all, we can’t do this work – supporting young patients and families – without YOU.
This month, we will be preparing for July and August art lessons, which will teach our students new skills surrounding the themes of “Printmaking + Color Theory” and “Imagination + Mixed Media”! Come help us PREP (tracing and cutting parts and pieces) our projects that will go directly into the hands of our very special artists!
Rebekah is pictured here, wearing her very own “Brain Cap.” All of our students have the imaginations and creativity to create their own artwork, BUT often they lack the time or the skills. Come help us prepare the building blocks for our students to gain skills and make their creative dreams a reality!
What: Drop-In & Volunteer Session
When: Thursday, June 18, 4-7 pm
Where: United Way Building, 50 S. French Broad Ave., third floor conference room. (Enter the building from the front entrance facing S. French Broad and find the stairs straight ahead. Go up two flights of stairs, and we will be in the room at the top of the stairs. Look for signs!) Please park in one of the yellow visitor spaces in front or beside the building.
Why: It’s an opportunity to help us keep things running behind the scenes by volunteering your time and effort, all while enjoying a social time with other like-minded people in the community. You’re welcome to bring a guest, too. If you plan to come help, please email Anna Long, or just drop in; put it on your calendar and pop by if you have time.
